Second verse, same as the first...

So, I keep telling myself that I'll start a blog, but then I start, something happens, and I forget. I really have no clue as to why I can't manage to update a blog, especially when I find myself updating my Facebook status a few times a day (yes I know, it's a sick obsession...).

I'm not sure exactly what purpose this blog will serve,though I suppose it will be a good outlet for venting that I cannot otherwise do openly. I figure if anything, it will be a good spot for me to "talk", because let's face it - though I love my boys to death, adult conversations during the day are seriously lacking.

But onto other subjects (lest I wax philosophical on the art of blogging)...

I am really looking forward to this summer. It's not that I have any "big" plans per se, but I've made up my mind that I'm going to enjoy the time with the kids (since P starts Kindergarden in August. Whoa.). I actually went the other day and bought some swim attire (why do I feel like using "big words" today?...). As I'm someone who is very picky about certain body parts, I decided to opt for guy swim shorts. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find "cute" swim shorts? Okay, so I guess guys aren't looking for cute. 

Anyway, I settled on a pair of black and yellow shorts, and then I picked out a cute tankini top. Sadly it does emphasize what little cleavage I have left (oh the joys of breastfeeding for a year), but I have to say I think I look pretty good in it. The only thing that would make my ensemble complete would be a pool and a lounger (and maybe a cute cabana boy).

I pulled out our kiddie pool yesterday, realizing now that P is much bigger than he was a few years ago - so the kiddie pool seems so tiny in comparison. Hubby set up the kiddie slide and garden hose next the pool, and P thought this was great fun. I also got Mr B dressed up in his swim trunks and swim shirt. For a kid that loves the tub - he was not at all impressed with our pool. Every time I would try to put him in, he would pull up his feet to his chest and scream. In the end, he opted for crawling around the grass, looking for random objects to throw in the water. 

Later tonight, Hubby and I are going to spend our date night looking at trees. I have to admit, I'm pretty tickled at the idea of having our own little orchard. Over the past few years, we've bought a few fruit trees. Last year we became the proud owners of 3 Fuji Apple Trees ($5 Walmart clearance!!) and 2 grape plants. A few years ago, we stumbled across 2 cherry trees and a Green Gage Plum tree. Our cherry trees are still young, so we're lucky to get a handful of cherries (plus the dang birds always get their first), but last year was the first year we had plums from our tree. Oh we were so excited. 

We're leaning towards a Nectarine and a Dwarf Peach tree, maybe even a Pluot. Hubby would also like to get a couple of shade trees as well. Not sure if he wants the Ash or the Flowering Pear.

Decisions, decisions...
